Trusteeship / Skilled Volunteering
Being a Trustee can be a thoroughly rewarding and impactful experience. It is especially suited to those with Business, IT, finance, HR or Fundraising backgrounds. However, having an interest in the governance and suitability of the organisation should be enough to get involved.
Most charitable organisations will have a committee, management board or board of trustees who oversee the direction of the charity and make collective decisions about its future.
Trustee roles can fit in with a busy lifestyle, without needing a substantial commitment in-terms of time. They are great if you’re looking to give something back but don’t want to volunteer at a grassroots level, or if you want to give an organisation the benefit of your professional/life experience.
